What Is Linux Used For?

Linux  operating system is simple  for computer, so that its uses are as varied as any other. It is popular in some areas, even if:

       *Web Server
         Nearly 60% of all websites running on the Internet with an open source program called "Apache". In most cases it works on Linux. If you have already surfed the net, we have (indirectly) uses Linux!

       * Networking
         Linux is based on Unix, an operating system in 1970 and still widely used to run primarily on the Internet was developed. Linux will be used to execute portions of the Internet and networks in small and large corporation term, offices and apartments.

       * The database
         Since Linux is stable, secure and robust, ideal for storing huge databases of information.

       * Desktop Computer
         People like us use Linux on our home computer and work, because of its stability and flexibility.

       * Scientific Computing
         They are grouped dozens (or hundreds or thousands) of Linux systems to work together on a single task (such as weather, physics, computer graphics rendering, etc.)

         A large collection of low cost PCs with Linux can be as powerful as a mainframe, but at a tenth the cost.

       * Home Computer
     Of course, people like us and people like you who can and want to use Linux on a daily basis at home and at work!
